Geographic
Exclusivity
If you're going to help establish CALATA Community in your local market, I believe you should have an opportunity to build that market without another CALATA clinic opening right beside you.
Your clinic receives a Protected Geographic Market.
Once your CALATA territory has been established, we will not license another CALATA Community location within that defined territory while your geographic protection remains active.
We protect that market.
We don't simply draw an arbitrary circle around your clinic.
A ten-mile radius in a major city is very different from ten miles in a suburban or rural community.
That's why CALATA territories are evaluated individually.
Your Clinic Location
We begin with the physical location where your CALATA Community will operate.
Local Population
We look at the population surrounding the clinic and the realistic size of the local market.
Reasonable Drive Area
We consider how far people in your particular community would reasonably travel to participate.
Natural Market Boundaries
ZIP codes, neighborhoods, towns, highways and other natural boundaries may help define the territory.

Your Protected CALATA Market
Every market is different.
Dense Urban Market
A relatively small geographic area may contain a large enough population to support a CALATA Community.
Suburban Market
Protection may extend across several neighborhoods or ZIP codes surrounding the clinic.
Rural Market
A substantially larger geographic area may be necessary to represent the same viable population.
Once your market is established...
Your clinic receives a clearly defined CALATA geographic territory.
Another CALATA Community clinic will not be licensed inside that protected territory while your protection remains active.
Your market is documented as part of your CALATA licensing relationship.
Your clinic has the opportunity to establish the CALATA Community brand and relationships within that local market.
Protection is connected to actually operating the program.
Geographic exclusivity isn't intended to allow someone to reserve a market indefinitely without building a CALATA Community there.
Your geographic protection remains in place while your CALATA license remains active and your clinic continues operating the CALATA Community program in accordance with the licensing agreement.
Specific requirements and territory boundaries will be documented before the licensing agreement is finalized.
Geographic exclusivity does not mean ownership of an entire city, county or metropolitan area.
CALATA markets are intentionally designed around viable local communities.
Large population centers may eventually support multiple CALATA Community locations, provided those locations fall outside an existing clinic's protected territory.
This allows us to protect each clinic's local opportunity while still allowing the CALATA Community network to responsibly expand over time.
Early clinics aren't simply joining CALATA.
They're helping establish the first CALATA markets.
That makes location important.
Once a qualifying Founding Clinic establishes a protected market, another CALATA Community location cannot simply come into that same territory.
As the CALATA network grows, some markets may therefore no longer be available.
Let's find out what a protected CALATA market could look like around your clinic.
If you're interested in becoming one of the Founding Clinics, we'll look at your location, surrounding population and local market before determining your protected territory.
Check My Market & Tell Me MoreGeographic protection is subject to final territory approval, execution of the CALATA licensing agreement, continued active participation and the specific terms of that agreement.
